In Joshua 6, the Lord gave Joshua direction on how to bring the walls of Jericho down. The Lord tells Joshua, “See! I have given Jericho into your hand its king and the mighty men of valor.” ~Joshua 6:2. The word ‘given’ is written in past tense. God said to Joshua that the vicory had already been won, eventhough he had not yet gone into battle. God is the Creator, and cannot be separated by time and space. His Presence is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent. Joshua was obedient to the voice of the Lord, and walls of Jericho came down.

John 10:5 explains that God’s sheep follow His voice. Knowing His voice means having a relationship with Him. When I receive a phone call from my mom, I know it’s her and not someone else because we have a relationship. I know it by her accent, the inflections in her voice, and by the words she uses. Studying the Word of God daily, and spending time in the Presence of the Holy Spirit is essential to know His voice. Spend some time with Him today and write down what He places on your heart. Choose to abide in Him, for His love for you is deeper than the sea.
